"FREDRIKSTAD FALLS"

I've gone hiking in this forest for decades and I thought the area around Fredrikstad had nothing else to offer than wood with tall spruce. But for a couple of years ago I stopped listening to a faint waterfall cascading. Deep inside a dense spruce forest, I found a stream with an approximately 2m freefall. Hewn granite blocks in the area suggests that this is one of the forest’s numerous quarries.

Now this has become one of my favour photo spots in all seasons. The catchment for the stream is however small, so after a few days without rain it will reduce to almost nothing.
